Follow these steps to activate Microsoft Office 365 on your computer.
You can do this with any of the Office 365 programs but I recommend that you select either Word or Excel.
If your email is also hosted on Office 365 then choosing Outlook is fine but it gets confusing if your email is hosted on an exchange facility that is separate to Office 365
When you first open Excel (or any other Office 365 program you will be asked to activate Office
Enter in your Microsoft Office 365 username and press Next. Note your username is most likely in the format of firstname.lastname@example.org. If your mail is also being hosted on Office 365 then it most likely will just be your email address. Confirm this with your account administrator.
You will now be asked to enter in your Office 365 credentials. Enter them and press "Sign in". If you don't get to this screen then the username you entered in above is incorrect.
Your administrator may have configured the system to force you to change your password. Do so here and press "Update password and sign in"
You must Accept the license agreement
You may be displayed some "latest Office 365 features". Just press "Close"
Your Microsoft Office 365 facility is now activated. You can now use all aspects of Microsoft Office.
