Jiwa Inventory - Stock on Hand Reports

In this article we look at the different Inventory Stock on Hand reports that are available in Jiwa.

Before we begin it is important to understand the following;

  • Stock valuation reports currently cannot be run retrospectively hence you cannot run a valuation report as at a particular date.
  • How stock is treated on unprocessed sales orders, it is important to understand this concept as different stock on hand reports will display different stock values.  The total quantity and stock value displayed on the report will either,

- Include stock on unprocessed sales orders, or

- Exclude stock on unprocessed sales orders

This article will point out those differences.

Stock Committed to Sales Orders

When a sales order is first saved and stock is available the Total S.O.H for the warehouse is reduced by the order quantity as stock is now committed to that sales order.

In the following example we have 8 units of the Wellington Boot - Size 7 left in our main warehouse.

A sales order is created and saved but not processed for 3 units

Notice on the sales order that the Qty On Shelf and Qty Available is updated to reflect the remaining stock that is available as 3 units have now been committed to this new order.

Back at the inventory item the Total SOH for our warehouse is updated accordingly to show the remaining uncommitted stock on hand.

Stock on Hand with Allocations Report

The Stock on Hand with Allocations report is the report recommended for use when substantiating the control account in the General Ledger as it shows both the

  • Total value of stock (including stock committed to unprocessed sales orders), and
  • Total value of stock on hand (excluding stock committed to unprocessed sales orders)

To run the report select Inventory | Reports | Stock on Hand with Allocations

Set your report ranges.

Using the grouping levels provides flexibility in how the stock report is produced.

The report ranges can be saved if required, this is useful if you run this report or any other report in a number of different ways for example the Stock on Hand with Allocations report maybe run with in the following groupings;

  • By Inventory Classification
  • By Warehouse location, by bin or
  • By Supplier

Rather then entering your ranges each time these can be saved and used as required.

In the following example the report is grouped by Supplier and then by Inventory classification.
