Windows - Fixing the Temporary Profile Issue

You can get a situation where Windows will not issue you with your main profile. 

This may be corrected by deleting the related registry key:

  • Go to the Remote Desktop Server / Workstation where you are having this problem
  • First make sure you take a backup of the registry
  • Open up Regedit
  • Go to  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ and looked for the registry entry which contains your username
  • Delete the registry entry that contains your profile details
