How to Add an Autodiscover Record in a DNS (Exchange 2010)

Synopsis:This guide will show you how to add the autodiscover record in your DNS.

Applicable to: All Austlink Plus 2010 hosted Exchange accounts.

Prerequisite:
- a Austlink Plus 2010 hosted Exchange account.

How to:

Note: The A record is necessary for the autoconnect configuration of Outlook. It is also necessary for many of Outlook features such as: offline address book, managing delegate permissions, automatic out-of-office reply.

1. Log into your DNS Control Panel.

2. Create an A record called autodiscover.yourdomain.com that points to the IP 74.115.204.63.

Note: Due to distributed nature of DNS, the record you created in this article may take up to 48 hours to propagate.
